We are happy to have Dr. Diogo Hashimoto, from the Aquaculture Center of UNESP, presenting for us on Friday, November 28th, 2025. The seminar will begin at 1:30 PM EDT/EST on the virtual platform Microsoft Teams. The presentation title is: “Harnessing phenomics to unlock genetic potential of aquaculture breeding programs”
Speaker Biography: Diogo Hashimoto is a Researcher at the Aquaculture Center of UNESP (CAUNESP), in Jaboticabal, Brazil, working in the field of Genetics applied to Aquaculture. He is also a faculty member of the Graduate Program in Aquaculture at UNESP. He previously worked as a Researcher at Embrapa Fisheries and Aquaculture, Brazil, and has been at CAUNESP since 2013, where he initiated the breeding program for tilapia and native fish species from Brazil. His research focuses on genomic and phenomic tools for aquaculture and the selection of fish with superior growth and disease resistance.
